_It pays to clean the computer once in a while!
Going through a bunch of old files, I've managed to discover a few more recordings that Jack and I made through the years!  Yay!

I've uploaded  our version of "Passionate Kisses," the Lucinda Williams tune. It was one of the first songs Jack and I worked on together!

So it's now up for public listening through the Sound Lab page...   Sure, it's not perfect, but it is us!  Hip, hip, hooray!

An auspicious day....Veterans' Day and my ermother's birthday.

EPK - "Toke Your Medicine"
In honor of both, we got the EPK up on SoundCloud.
It seems appropriate; revolutionary songs on a day we celebrate the folks who make it possible to continue having freedom to speak our mind.
And as for mom....well, happy birthday from your activist daughter-with much love.

There's a new feature on our website - the Projects page.

This is where folks can see what things Jack and I are doing, not only as the Band but as independent artists too.

Jack likes to think about environmental issues, different video experiments and so on when he feels up to it.

I like to write, do artwork and music.    We're both activists in the medical cannabis movement.   So there are a lot of layers to who we are....why not show 'em all?

We hope folks like this addition to the site.

Well, we did it.  We finally got it together and have our music available through Sound Cloud.  It's also now available for sale through our website.
I sure hope some folks like our music.
The collection is called "High Quality, Low Overhead Music For A Budget Minded Planet."

Us in the studio last year
Mom's in New Jersey, everybody else is in Pennsylvania.....and there's snow back there already.  Who says there's no such thing as Global Warming?

Working on the website again, added cover art and poster page.
Dreaming up a new contest too.
More lyrics being written, hope to pull another all nighter and get some sounds down!

The work on "Elvis" went fairly smooth. Jack wasn't able to work on it with me, just wasn't feeling well...so I did my best.
The piano is just me on the Yamaha....using the chord setting.  I wouldn't play that good on my own!
The "horn" part was from the Yamaha, too....some day I hope to get a real wailin' sax on the song!
The cover art was simple enough, using Corel Graphics Suite products....
of course that pink Cadillac belonged to Elvis!
Well, on to the next.

This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.

Us in the studio

Here it is, October already!
Will be working some more in the studio this week, after a good cleaning!  Gotta remember to do that once in a while.
Have been updating the site, keeping the cooking blog going and writing lots of lyrics....time to work on tunes!

No more news about "Elvis."  Will record the demo soon, that piano bit (entered in the blog a few weeks back) was just to get an idea for the melody.

Prayers for my brother Jim, in the hospital.

Here it is, near the end of September.  Been working on several things at once.  Jack doesn't feel well enough to play guitar, so some of the work is going a little slower, but still going on.
Am very grateful that we have  the R16 recorder...
overdubbing seems to be the key for now.  I am no where near Jack's level of guitar greatness....but what the heck.

Here's hoping he gets well soon.

This is a picture of the R16, hooked up and being used.
It is really easy to operate...heck, even I can do it!

Onward to the next!
Rock on!

Randi composing "When Elvis Drove His Cadillac" in the studio
Got a nibble from one of the agencies where I sent the "Elvis" lyrics.  See, I submitted the song in answer to a contest add.  And although I didn't win the contest, the company said they liked my lyrics and wanted to help me get it published and into the right hands.

Unfortunately, they want to charge a fee....so I kind of wonder if  they are really interested or just making a sale.

It sure would be nice to have it published....but I don't have the money for even the most basic package (they make a demo w/guitar and vocal then send it out to some firms in Nashville), which is $250.00

Might as well be $2 million.

But I'll not give up!  I'll not loose heart!  Some where , one of these doors that I'm pounding on will finally open.  It's just the law of averages.

So here I go, knocking on more!

"Elvis" tune has a good melody now.  I worked with the Yamaha keyboard to get it right....even had a little fun giving it a Boogie Woogie sound.
Sure it's just a demo for Jack so he can see how it goes, but why not have a little fun in the process?

I confess, I'm not the best pianist.....not by a long shot!  The keyboards sure make me sound okay though:)
